The Visual Comfort Toulon Table Lamp, designed by AERIN, is built around an ovoid ceramic base inspired by coral and volcanic surfaces. Diverse glazed ceramic textures across the body are contrasted by a horizontal ribbed band at the midsection — structured geometry against raw organic form. Solid brass hardware at the neck and finial ties the piece to a refined, transitional aesthetic, and the classic tapered linen shade diffuses light into soft, warm ambience. IP20 rated for standard indoor use, this lamp is well suited to bedrooms and living rooms.

The Toulon is available in two reactive ceramic finishes: Beaded Blue Porcelain and Volcanic Ivory. Because these are reactive glazes, colour and texture will vary between individual pieces — this is a defining characteristic of the material, not a quality concern. The tapered empire shade measures 33cm x 43.2cm x 34.3cm, and the overall lamp stands 69.2cm tall with a 43.2cm width.

The lamp uses an E27 keyless socket with an inline switch, accepting up to a 60W bulb (E27 is the standard large screw fitting common across Europe). No driver is required — it connects directly to a standard mains supply. A lamp bulb is not included and will need to be sourced separately; an E27 LED filament bulb is recommended to maintain the warmth of the linen shade while keeping heat output low. Weight is 7.7kg, so a stable, sturdy surface is advisable.
