Visual Comfort Chapman & Myers Table Lamp

Choosing a table lamp that holds its own as a design object — not just a light source — is harder than it sounds. The wrong scale, a glaze that photographs well but feels flat in person, or a shade that creates harsh pools rather than warmth: these are the decisions that come back to haunt a scheme at handover.

For decorative table lamps, the details that matter most are the quality of the base material, how the shade handles light diffusion, and whether the form reads as intentional at close range. A reactive glaze, for instance, is not a printed finish — it is a result of chemistry and heat, meaning no two pieces are identical. The fabric shade works by transmitting light softly through its surface, reducing glare and creating the kind of ambient warmth that makes a room feel considered rather than lit.

The Visual Comfort Chapman & Myers Table Lamp brings those qualities together in a single, resolved form. Designed by Chapman & Myers for Visual Comfort — a pairing with a strong track record in American decorative lighting — the lamp features a multi-tiered sculptural ceramic base with a mottled reactive glaze and a classic tapered fabric shade in white or cream. The tiered neck and flared rim add an architectural rhythm to what is otherwise an organically hand-crafted silhouette. Rated IP20, this lamp is suitable for interior use on nightstands, end tables, sideboards, or console surfaces.

The base is finished in a reactive glaze that produces visible tonal variation — earthy browns and tans shifting through the dominant ground colour — meaning each lamp carries a degree of individuality. Available in Corsican Green or Corsican White, the two colourways suit quite different interior directions: the green reads as grounded and tactile, the white as softer and more neutral.

This lamp is intended for interior use in dry locations (IP20 — no moisture protection, suitable for living rooms, bedrooms, and similar spaces). Lamp type and driver requirements should be confirmed at point of specification; the shade and base are the primary supplied components. A brass-finished finial secures the shade to the internal harp assembly.

At Lightsource Mallorca, decorative pieces like this are specified as part of a broader lighting scheme — ensuring scale, colour temperature, and placement work together rather than in isolation. We help you make that call with confidence, whether you are furnishing a single room or coordinating an entire project, with lead times and sourcing managed so the lamp arrives when you need it.
