Low-ceiling rooms are a common challenge in Mallorcan homes and apartments — and the wrong flush mount can feel like a compromise rather than a choice. The real risk is specifying something that looks fine in isolation but flattens a room, kills atmosphere, or simply looks cheap once it's up. The Sen 17 exists to solve that.

For flush-mounted ceiling lights, what matters most is diffusion quality and colour rendering — how soft the light looks in the room, and how accurately it reveals materials and finishes. CRI (Colour Rendering Index) is the measure of that accuracy: a CRI of 90 or above is considered high fidelity, meaning colours appear true and surfaces read as intended by the designer.

The Visual Comfort Sen 17 Flush Mount, designed by Sean Lavin, delivers exactly that. Part of the Visual Comfort Signature Collection, it combines a flat, wide circular metal backplate with a tiered cylindrical diffuser — frosted at the centre, with a clear outer border — creating soft, even light distribution with genuine visual depth. With a CRI of 90 and an IP20 rating (suitable for dry interior spaces), it's a considered specification for living rooms, bedrooms, hallways, and entrance areas where ceiling clearance is limited.

The form is deliberately minimal: a low-profile disc geometry with clean lines and a high-contrast relationship between the outer ring and luminous centre. The Sen 17 is available in two finishes — Nightshade Black and Natural Brass — each hand-applied, giving the fixture the character of bespoke design without requiring bespoke lead times.

As an IP20-rated interior fixture, the Sen 17 is suited to dry rooms only — not bathrooms or exterior-adjacent zones.
