The Pitch by Visual Comfort is a considered design that earns its place at the centre of a room — but like any hardwired pendant, it rewards a little planning before installation.

Cluster pendants work by gathering multiple light points into a single visual composition. The result is layered ambient light with a sculptural quality that a single shade cannot achieve. CRI — Colour Rendering Index — is the measure of how accurately a light source renders colour; at 90+, the Pitch renders materials, finishes, and fabrics faithfully, which matters in living spaces, dining rooms, and hospitality settings where atmosphere is everything.

The Visual Comfort Pitch Cluster Pendant is a three-light ceiling fixture designed by Sean Lavin. Three cable-suspended globes descend from a circular matte black ceiling canopy, each housing a cylindrical black socket and a spherical clear glass globe with a frosted inner diffuser element — creating a dual-layer visual effect that softens the light source while preserving the transparency of the outer form. With a CRI of 90, it performs as well under scrutiny as it looks in a render.

The design is resolutely minimal: a monochromatic black-and-clear palette with clean metalwork throughout. The matte black metal canopy, sockets, and cables form a cohesive, industrial-influenced composition. The three globes cluster at a single ceiling point, making this an effective focal pendant for dining tables, kitchen islands, entrance halls, and open-plan living spaces where a singular overhead moment is called for.

The Pitch is designed for hardwired ceiling installation into a standard electrical box. Lamp and driver specifications should be confirmed at the point of specification to ensure dimming compatibility with your chosen control system — we can advise on this as part of the project process. Note that this fixture carries no IP rating and is suited to dry interior locations only.
