With natural stone, that variation is the point — but it helps to know that going in.

Alabaster is a translucent, fine-grained natural stone. No two pieces are identical, which means every lamp carries its own subtle pattern of colour and veining. This is a quality marker, not a flaw. The linen shade diffuses light softly and evenly, making it well suited to bedside, home office, or living room placement where ambience matters as much as task output.

The Visual Comfort Olsen Table Lamp, designed by AERIN Lauder as part of the Visual Comfort portfolio, is a considered piece of decorative lighting with genuine architectural presence. The tall, tapered, multi-faceted pylon base — available in alabaster or crystal with hand-rubbed antique brass — draws on Art Deco geometry, creating shifting light and shadow across its surfaces. At 82.6 cm tall with a 43.2 cm wide drum shade, it reads confidently on a console, sideboard, or generous bedside table. IP20 rated, this lamp is intended for dry interior locations.

Two finish directions are available: Alabaster with Hand-Rubbed Antique Brass, and Crystal with Brass. Each brings a different character — alabaster lending warmth and organic softness, crystal offering a cooler, more graphic edge — both unified by the warm metallic accent collar between base and shade.

The lamp takes two E27 (standard screw-cap) sockets with a line switch built in, and is rated for up to 60W per socket. It is French wired — meaning the cord runs visibly along the exterior of the base rather than being internally concealed. This is a deliberate design feature consistent with the lamp's aesthetic language, but it is worth noting during installation planning. Wiring may not be clearly visible in product imagery. The base measures 12.7 cm across its octagonal footprint and the total weight is 10.9 kg, so a stable surface is recommended.
