For single pendants and multi-light arrangements alike, the form of the shade defines the installation. A teardrop silhouette — wide at the base, tapering to a long neck — distributes light differently from a globe or drum. The light source sits at the bottom of the glass body, illuminating the thickest section of the hand-blown shade from within. The result is a warm, diffused glow that radiates through the glass rather than projecting sharply downward. That's a deliberate design choice, and it matters for placement.

The Visual Comfort Lomme Pendant, designed by Champalimaud, captures exactly that effect. A hand-blown clear glass shade in a water-droplet silhouette is suspended from a rigid segmented downrod and ceiling canopy — a rod mount rather than a flexible cord, which gives the fixture a fixed, stable hang suited to higher-traffic spaces such as hallways, entries, and stairwells, as well as dining rooms and living rooms where a composed focal point is the goal. The glass exhibits a subtle rippled surface texture consistent with artisanal hand-blown production, and the minimalist armature keeps attention on the shade itself.

The Lomme is available in three armature finishes: Polished Nickel, Soft Brass, and Gun Metal — each shifting the fixture's register from cool and contemporary to warm and considered, or to an industrial-inflected darker tone. The monochromatic pairing of clear glass with metallic armature means it sits comfortably across a wide range of interior palettes.

The fixture is rated IP20, meaning it is suitable for dry interior locations only — living rooms, dining rooms, bedrooms, hallways, and entries are all appropriate settings. It is not suitable for bathroom zones or outdoor use. Lamp and driver details should be confirmed at point of specification to ensure the correct source and dimming method are selected for your installation. The rigid rod suspension system makes ceiling height and rod length relevant considerations, particularly over islands or dining tables where the recommended clearance is 30–36 inches from the surface below.
