Bedside lighting is one of the most overlooked specification decisions in a bedroom scheme. Get it wrong and you end up with a lamp that floods the room when one person wants to read, or a fixed fitting that can't follow the user. Neither is ideal — especially in a considered interior.
For a bedside reading light to work properly, it needs to direct light precisely where it's needed without spilling across the rest of the room. A pivoting head solves this: it lets the user adjust the angle of the light independently, so two people sharing a bed can each have control over their own light without disturbing the other. The Lancelot features a tall, slim cylindrical lamp head mounted on a short horizontal arm extending from a large flat circular wall plate. The pivoting joint between arm and head allows the angle to be adjusted freely, directing light downward with precision. The fitting is rated IP20, making it suitable for dry interior spaces such as bedrooms.
The design is quietly geometric — a wide, flat backplate contrasted against a dense, solid cylinder, mounted off-centre for a considered asymmetrical aesthetic. The hand-rubbed antique brass finish gives the metal a soft, muted warmth with a subtle brushed texture that avoids the cold sheen of polished alternatives. The Lancelot is designed for hardwired installation directly onto a flat wall surface. As a hardwired fitting, it will require connection to a suitable electrical supply — your electrician will need to plan cable routing to the wall plate position before finishing.
