What separates a well-specified rechargeable lamp from a novelty is the combination of colour rendering, battery endurance, and protection rating. CRI — Colour Rendering Index — measures how accurately a light source reveals the true colours of surfaces and materials; a CRI of 90 or above is the threshold for discerning residential and hospitality environments. IP65 means the lamp is fully dust-tight and protected against directed water jets, making it genuinely suitable for outdoor use rather than just technically portable.

The Visual Comfort Kandella Rechargeable Table Lamp, designed by Sean Lavin, delivers on all three counts. At 90 CRI, 2.4W with 200 lumens of warm-toned output, and a confirmed IP65 rating, it is as well-suited to a Spanish terrace table as it is to a bedside in a coastal villa. The dedicated LED light source is integrated, and recharging is via USB-C to USB-C cable — reaching full charge in approximately five hours, with a maximum battery life of 12 to 14 hours. A wall charger is included.

The design, by Sean Lavin for Visual Comfort, draws on a laboratory flask silhouette: a clear glass body with a wide conical base narrowing into a cylindrical upper section, enclosed by a matte black metal cap with an integrated semicircular loop handle. A suspended internal cylinder houses the light source, creating the visual effect of a floating element within the glass — a quietly architectural detail that reads well in both contemporary and transitional interiors. The lamp is available in Natural Brass, Matt White, and Black, standing 34.3cm tall on a 14.7cm round base.

No driver, transformer, or external wiring is required. The lamp is self-contained: integrated LED, integrated battery, USB-C charging, and wall charger included. The loop handle doubles as a hanging point, extending placement options beyond flat surfaces. Dimensions: H 34.3cm × W 14.7cm.
