The Visual Comfort Gaios Table Lamp, designed by Aerin Lauder, pairs a globular reactive-glazed ceramic base with a generous white cylindrical drum shade. The base is formed from terra cotta with a heavily textured reactive glaze — a process where the glaze responds unpredictably to kiln heat, producing tonal variation and a surface that recalls weathered stone or natural terrain. Polished brass hardware at the neck and finial completes the composition. IP20 rated, this is a lamp designed for dry interior spaces.

The Gaios is available in Blue Lagoon and Pharaoh White — two reactive glaze colourways, each subject to natural variation in colour and surface texture between individual pieces. This isn't a flaw; it's the signature of the process. The wide drum shade diffuses light softly and broadly, making it well suited to ambient layering in a living room or as a bedside anchor in a larger bedroom.

The E27 keyless socket accepts bulbs up to 100W (traditional incandescent equivalent); we recommend specifying a warm-white LED E27 bulb for energy efficiency and to maintain the warmth of the glaze tones. No driver or transformer is required — this is a direct-mains lamped fitting. The in-line cable switch provides independent control without requiring a switched circuit.
