Choosing a statement pendant for a high-ceiling space or open-plan interior is one of the easier decisions to get wrong. Pick something too fussy and it competes with the architecture. Pick something too minimal and it disappears. The real challenge is finding a fixture that reads as considered design from every angle — without needing a spotlight to prove it.

The Visual Comfort Divina Pendant, designed by Barbara Barry, does exactly this. A slim vertical suspension rod drops from a ceiling canopy into a sharply geometric triangular open frame, which in turn cradles a wide, shallow saucer shade. At its centre sits a tapered cylindrical diffuser in a translucent, stone-like material — alabaster in character — that softens the light source into a warm, ambient glow. The contrast between the hard geometry of the metal frame and the soft luminosity of the central element is the fixture's defining quality.

The Divina is available in two carefully considered finishes: Modern Iron and Soft Brass. Each brings a different mood — Modern Iron for a sharper, more architectural edge; Soft Brass for warmth and a more classical register. Both finishes work the same geometric tension between the open frame and the glowing diffuser.

The fixture carries an IP22 rating — suitable for standard interior environments where it may be exposed to vertically falling moisture (IP22 means protection against drips at an angle up to 15° from vertical), making it appropriate for most living, dining, and commercial interior spaces. Installation is hardwired via the matching ceiling canopy.
