The Visual Comfort Desmond Open Cage Pendant, designed by Chapman & Myers, brings that thinking into a single resolved form. Inspired by the furniture of Diego Giacometti, the fixture wraps a central four-arm candelabra in an open, curvilinear cage of intersecting vertical loops and a central horizontal ring. The hand-forged, hammered metal surfaces give the piece a sculptural, artisanal quality. At 53.3cm wide and 73cm tall, it carries presence without overwhelming — well suited to dining tables, kitchen islands, or generous entryways. IP20 rated, it is designed for dry interior environments.

The Desmond is available in two finishes: Aged Iron, with its dark, textured patina, and Gild, for a warmer, more luminous character. Each includes cream candle sleeves and flame-shaped bulbs that complete the candelabra aesthetic. The transitional design sits comfortably between classical and contemporary interiors.

The fixture takes four E14 candelabra base lamps rated at 40W each (bulb type B). It is suspended on a 6-foot metal chain from a 14cm round canopy. Total weight is 8.2kg — factor this into ceiling fixings and structural preparation. IP20 Class I: suitable for dry interior rooms only; not for bathrooms or covered outdoor use.
