Large pendant lanterns make a statement — but getting the scale, finish, and lamp count right before committing is the real challenge. A fitting this size (73.7cm wide, over a metre tall with chain) needs to earn its place, and that means understanding the room height, the table or floor area below, and the mood you want to create.

With a decorative pendant of this type, the key decisions are scale, light quality, and finish durability. The six E14 candelabra sockets (E14 is the small-screw fitting common in candle-style bulbs) allow flexibility in lamp choice — from warm-toned filament lamps for atmosphere to dimmable LEDs for energy efficiency. The IP20 rating means this fitting is suited to dry interior spaces only; it is not appropriate for bathrooms or covered outdoor use.

The open iron cage structure, glassless by design, creates an airy silhouette that casts light freely in all directions. With six internal candle-style sockets and flame-tip bulbs, it functions as a genuine focal point while delivering genuine ambient illumination.

The Darlana's form is a tall, tapered cage that narrows toward the base — a pyramidal cap meets at a central decorative loop, and the suspension chain carries concealed wiring for a clean finish. It is available in three finishes: Polished Nickel, Gilded Iron, and Aged Iron. Each finish is hand-applied, meaning every piece carries a degree of individual character.

The lantern is suspended via a dark metal chain from a 19cm round canopy, with a total fixture height of 106.7cm and a width of 73.7cm. It weighs 12.2kg, so ceiling structure and junction box load capacity should be confirmed before installation. The six E14 sockets accept up to 60W per lamp in incandescent (6 x 60W total); if using LED equivalents — which we strongly recommend — total wattage will be a fraction of that. Lamps are not included. This is an IP20 rated interior fitting.
