The Karo Cut faceted glass shade — a precisely textured, crystalline surface — diffracts the internal light source to reduce direct glare and cast patterned reflections across surrounding surfaces, creating atmosphere rather than simply providing illumination. The fixture carries an IP22 rating, meaning it is suitable for interior environments where limited protection from dripping water is required, but is not rated for wet zones such as bathrooms or exterior use.

The design is defined by the contrast between the delicate, crystalline Karo Cut glass and the substantial matte black metal band that bisects the shade at its widest point. A rigid metal downrod and circular ceiling canopy complete the form, giving the pendant a clean, architectural presence that reads as considered rather than decorative for its own sake. The fixture is available in three finishes: Polished Nickel, Bronze, and Natural Brass — each suited to a different interior palette, from cooler contemporary schemes to warmer, more material-led spaces.

The pendant suspends via a rigid downrod connected to a circular ceiling canopy designed to fit over a standard electrical junction box. For kitchen island placement, Visual Comfort recommends positioning ceiling fixtures 30–36 inches above the work surface; when hanging multiple pendants in a row, the widest points of adjacent shades should be spaced a minimum of 30 inches apart to maintain balanced light spread and visual breathing room.
