Visual Comfort Claude 39" Pendant Chandelier

Choosing a large-scale pendant for a principal living space carries real risk. Get the proportions wrong, or specify a fixture whose finish clashes with adjacent metalwork, and the centrepiece becomes a problem rather than a focal point. The Claude demands careful placement planning — its near-metre diameter and low-profile silhouette are assets in the right room and a liability in the wrong one.

For pendant chandeliers of this scale, the decisions that matter most before purchase are ceiling height, suspension length, and the quality of ambient light the shade produces. A diffusing glass shade — one that softens the source rather than exposing it — is what separates a fixture that creates genuine warmth and atmosphere from one that simply fills space. IP22 rating here means the Claude is suited to dry interior environments; this is not a fitting for bathrooms or covered outdoor areas.

The Visual Comfort Claude 39" Pendant Chandelier is designed by AERIN and produced under the Visual Comfort Signature Collection — a range defined by premium natural materials, hand-applied living finishes, and craftsmanship positioned at the level of bespoke design. The shade is a wide, shallow bowl of clear fluted glass with a stepped base profile, diffusing light softly through its textured surface. A tripod-style support — three slender rods extending diagonally from a central hub to the rim of the shade — gives the fixture a quietly architectural, geometric character that sets it apart from conventional chandelier forms.

The metalwork throughout carries a brushed gold and brass finish, consistent across the canopy, downrod, and support arms. Visual Comfort's living finishes are hand-applied and intended to evolve subtly over time, adding depth and character. No variant options are currently listed, so please contact us to confirm current finish or size availability for your project.

The Claude is rated IP22, meaning it is protected against vertically dripping water — appropriate for standard dry interior use. Electrical and driver specifications should be confirmed at point of order; we recommend discussing lamp type, dimming method, and ceiling recess requirements with our team before committing to installation design. A 1-year product warranty applies.

At Lightsource Mallorca, our role is to make sure a fixture like the Claude arrives correctly specified — right suspension length for your ceiling height, finish confirmed against your scheme, and lead time mapped to your project programme. We work across residential and hospitality projects throughout Mallorca, bridging the gap between design intent and what actually gets installed.
