The Visual Comfort Afton Large Pendant Lantern is a ceiling-mounted statement lantern designed by Julie Neill, part of Visual Comfort's Signature Collection. Its open wireframe octahedral frame — two square-based pyramids joined at the centre — spans 86.4 cm wide and 63.5 cm tall, with an overall installed height of 154.3 cm at standard suspension. Six E14 candelabra sockets arranged in a central cluster provide multi-directional ambient illumination. The IP20 rating confirms this is a dry indoor fitting, suited to kitchens, dining rooms, and living rooms away from moisture zones.

The Afton's exaggerated diamond silhouette and slender metal rod construction deliver an architectural, modern aesthetic that reads as both bold and visually open — the open-cage frame keeps the ceiling light and airy rather than imposing. The Aged Iron finish gives the fixture a textured, tactile quality that contrasts with the precision of its geometric form. A hexagonal ceiling canopy (15.2 cm) echoes the lantern's angular geometry. The Afton takes six E14 candelabra base lamps, rated at up to 60W each (bulb type B). Lamps are not included and should be sourced separately; globe or candle-form E14 bulbs suit the open frame best. The canopy is hexagonal at 15.2 cm.
