One of the most common frustrations in lighting a dining table or workspace is committing to a direction of light before you know exactly how the space will be used. Fixed downlights look great on a plan but leave no room to adapt once the furniture is in place.

For pendant lighting over linear surfaces, the ability to redirect the beam — from direct task light to indirect ambient wash — makes a significant difference to how a room feels at different times of day. Phase-cut dimming (sometimes called leading-edge or trailing-edge dimming) allows brightness to be controlled via a compatible wall dimmer, without requiring a separate dimming controller or complex wiring.

The Stilnovo Tablet P1 Pendant Light is a linear aluminium pendant from the Tablet range, designed in Belgium. Its defining feature is a 350° swivelling module that lets you choose between direct and indirect illumination after installation — a genuinely useful detail in living rooms, dining spaces, and studios where lighting needs shift. The integrated LED source sits behind a polycarbonate diffuser for even, glare-managed output, and the fixture dims via phase-cut, making it compatible with most standard wall dimmers.

The design is intentionally restrained: a slender horizontal bar suspended by twin steel cables that double as electrical conductors, keeping the ceiling connection as minimal as the lamp itself. The rectangular aluminium body creates a clean floating line above a table or bench. The Tablet P1 is available in White or Black finishes.

The fixture is rated IP40, meaning it is suitable for dry interior environments — dining rooms, living areas, offices, and studios — but not bathrooms or covered outdoor spaces. The LED source is integrated directly into the unit. Dimming is phase-cut compatible; check that your existing or planned wall dimmer supports phase-cut (also labelled leading-edge or trailing-edge) to avoid compatibility issues. The suspension height is adjustable at installation via the steel cable system.
