The Stilnovo Oxygen Surface Downlight is the result of a collaboration between designers Pio and Tito Toso, recognised with the Red Dot Award in 2017. The fitting uses a perimeter ring of LED sources paired with a PMMA diffuser — PMMA is a high-clarity acrylic — engineered with OptiLight laser micro-engraving technology. This precisely diverts photons to produce both a clean downward emission through the diffuser and a soft upward aura that draws the eye to the ceiling. The outer shade is formed in polyurethane, giving it a smooth, tactile finish. IP40 rated, it is suited to standard interior dry environments.

The form is a tapered ring shade with a recessed mounting base that creates a deliberate visual gap between the fitting and the ceiling surface — the fixture appears to float. It is available in two sizes to suit different room scales, and in four colour combinations: White, Black/White, Yellow/White, and Azure/White, the tonal options appearing as pastel accents on the outer or inner face of the ring.

The Oxygen is DALI-dimmable, meaning it requires a compatible DALI dimming driver and control system. DALI (Digital Addressable Lighting Interface) is a professional-grade control protocol that allows individual or group dimming with high precision — ideal for hospitality, residential, and commercial schemes where scene-setting is part of the brief. Driver specification should be confirmed at the project stage to ensure full compatibility with your control system.
