Designed in 1971 by the Milan-based trio De Pas, D'Urbino & Lomazzi, it remains a fixture of design-literate interiors. The polycarbonate body is gloss-finished and dyed through its mass, meaning the colour runs throughout the material rather than sitting as a surface coat. The aluminium reflector shade is white-painted to soften and distribute light evenly, creating warmth without harshness.
Lampiatta is available in three colourways: White, Red/White, and Black/White — each pairing a polished polycarbonate body with a white aluminium reflector. Its dual-use nature is resolved neatly: an included steel base converts the wall fixture into a freestanding table lamp, requiring no additional hardware or adaptation.
The fixture is rated IP20, suitable for dry indoor environments — bedrooms, living rooms, reading corners, and hospitality settings where moisture ingress is not a factor. The 7W E27 LED bulb at 2700K is included with the lamp. Note that IP20 means this light is not suitable for bathrooms or covered outdoor areas. No external driver or transformer is required — the E27 fitting runs directly from mains voltage.
