Sikrea Mikado Ceiling Light

Choosing a statement ceiling light for an elongated space — a dining table, kitchen island, or open-plan living area — means balancing visual impact with practical lighting performance. Get it wrong and you end up with either a decorative object that barely lights the room, or a functional fitting that kills the atmosphere.

For spaces like these, a linear pendant that distributes light across its length is far more effective than a single central source. The key is finding one that delivers both ambient warmth and directional task light simultaneously — without looking like a compromise between the two.

The Sikrea Mikado is exactly that. A long horizontal bar in matte black metal provides the structural spine, while two frosted glass spheres sit atop the bar to cast a soft ambient glow upward and outward. A frosted conical shade hangs below the bar at one end, directing focused light downward for task illumination. Brushed brass accents at the globe bases, the cone cap, and the suspension junctions add refinement without excess. The fixture is rated IP20, making it suited to dry interior environments such as dining rooms, living areas, and kitchen islands.

The Mikado's asymmetric composition — spheres and cone held along an off-centre linear frame — gives it a quietly sculptural quality. The dual-suspension system, combining a rigid brass-finished rod on one side and a slender wire on the other, keeps the silhouette balanced and considered. The two-tone matte black and brushed brass palette sits comfortably within both contemporary and transitional interiors.

As an IP20-rated interior pendant, the Mikado is designed for dry rooms only. If you are specifying for a space with humidity or moisture exposure, a different IP-rated fitting would be required. Installation queries around suspension height, cable length, and lamp type can be directed to the Lightsource Mallorca team before you commit.

At Lightsource Mallorca, we help you specify the right fitting for the right space — not just the most visually striking one. The Mikado earns its place through a combination of design intent and genuine lighting function, and we can advise on placement, suspension height, and compatibility with your wider scheme to make sure it performs as well as it looks.
