Decorative pendants with integrated LED light sources remove the lamp-selection guesswork — but they introduce a different question: is your dimmer actually compatible? LED tape-based fittings like this one require a leading-edge or trailing-edge dimmer (sometimes called TRIAC dimmers) rather than a standard rotary switch. Getting this wrong is the most common reason a stunning pendant ends up flickering, buzzing, or simply not dimming at all.

With an integrated LED source, the light engine and the fitting are one. That means no lamp to replace at the point of specification — but it also means the dimmer switch you choose must be matched to the LED driver built into the fitting. Always check the manufacturer's dimmer compatibility list before ordering your control gear.

The Quintiesse Styx LED Pendant is a sculptural centrepiece designed for interiors that want drama without clutter. A rigid, open cubic frame in matte black houses an intricate internal cluster of textured metal rods finished in gilded gold — organic in feel, geometric in context. Integrated LED strips are recessed into the four vertical interior corners of the frame, directing light inward to wash across the gold sculptural element, creating depth, warmth, and atmosphere from a single fitting. The output is substantial: 48W delivering 5,234 lumens at 3000K — a warm white colour temperature that flatters both the gold finish and the spaces it inhabits.

The Styx is designed to work as a statement piece in living rooms, dining rooms, hallways, or double-height spaces where ceiling height allows the full drop to be appreciated. The open-frame silhouette reads well from all angles, making it equally effective centred over a table or floating in an open-plan space.

Installation is via a fixed downrod system supplied with three rods of varying length, giving a minimum drop of 669mm and a maximum of 1,431mm — useful for adapting to different ceiling heights. The canopy is compatible with sloped ceilings, which broadens its application considerably. The fitting requires a compatible trailing-edge dimmer switch (not included); confirm compatibility before finalising your electrical specification. Overall dimensions are H: 538mm, W: 510mm, D: 510mm. The product carries a 2-year warranty.
