For lamped pendants like this one, the bulb you choose shapes everything: the warmth of the light, the character of the fitting, and whether dimming performs smoothly. The Skye takes a standard E27 screw-cap bulb — one of the most widely available bases — at up to 60W, or an LED equivalent. Dimming is supported when paired with a compatible leading-edge or trailing-edge dimmer switch (not included); matching the dimmer to your chosen LED bulb is the one step worth not skipping.

The Quintiesse Skye Single Pendant is a mid-century modern decorative pendant from Belgian lighting brand Quintiesse. Its defining feature is a clear glass globe with an intentionally off-centre circular opening — a quietly asymmetric detail that sets it apart from conventional globe pendants. A slender Heritage Brass ring frames the sphere, with matching brass hardware throughout including the ceiling canopy. The fitting is particularly well suited to vintage Edison-style filament bulbs, which read beautifully through the transparent glass and reinforce the mid-century character of the design.

The Skye works beautifully as a single statement over a smaller table or reading nook, and equally well in a grouped cluster above a longer dining table or kitchen island. Hardware is finished in Heritage Brass throughout, giving warmth and cohesion to the overall form. The globe measures 274mm in diameter with an overall height of 328mm, providing a compact but visually substantial presence.

The pendant is supplied with over 3 metres of cable, which can be cut to length during installation — giving a minimum drop of 370mm and a maximum of 3,298mm. This makes it genuinely adaptable across a wide range of ceiling heights without needing additional equipment. Bulb and dimmer switch are not included. A vintage Edison-style E27 bulb is recommended to complete the intended aesthetic.
