Quintiesse Rigby Twin Wall Light

Choosing a wall light for a bathroom vanity sounds straightforward until you realise most decorative fixtures aren't rated for damp environments — and that mistake only reveals itself during installation. Getting the IP rating right from the start saves a costly rethink.

In bathroom lighting, IP ratings define where a fitting can safely be installed. IP44 means the fixture is protected against water splashes from any direction — suitable for general bathroom use, including above or beside a vanity mirror, outside of the immediate shower or bath zone. It's the standard you need for a decorative wall light in most bathroom positions.

The Quintiesse Rigby is a two-light decorative wall light, IP44 rated and built for exactly this kind of specification. Quintiesse is a Belgian-heritage lighting brand known for design-forward decorative fixtures that hold their own in both residential and hospitality settings. The Rigby draws on American barn light influences, reworked into something far more considered — a horizontal arm supporting two downward-facing light assemblies, each with a wide mesh shade brim and a clear seeded glass lamp protector that gives visible filament bulbs a warm, textured quality.

The two-tone finish combination is what sets the Rigby apart from standard industrial fixtures. Antique Nickel covers the arm, canopy, and mesh, while Heritage Brass picks out the socket covers and canopy details — a pairing that feels collected rather than matched. For those who prefer a cleaner look, Polished Chrome is also available, offering the same silhouette in a single reflective finish. The circular mounting canopy features the embossed Hinkley branding detail, a quiet mark of craft that rewards a closer look.

The Rigby uses visible filament-style bulbs — not included — encased in the seeded glass protectors. Check lamp compatibility before ordering, and confirm whether your preferred bulb type is dimmable if you intend to use a dimmer switch. The circular backplate mounts directly to a standard wall back box. No driver or transformer is required.
