Choosing a statement chandelier is rarely just about aesthetics — get the scale wrong, hang it too low, or pair it with the wrong lamp type, and the effect you imagined on the mood board stays firmly on the mood board. The Mondo is a considered piece that rewards careful placement.

For decorative chandeliers like this, the key decisions are scale relative to the room, suspension height, and lamp compatibility. Frosted glass shades diffuse light by scattering it as it passes through the material, softening the output and reducing glare — ideal for living and dining spaces where ambience matters more than task clarity.

The Quintiesse Mondo Chandelier is a three-light ceiling fitting from the Mondo collection by Belgian manufacturer Quintiesse. Its defining feature is a large spherical outer frame of three intersecting circular bands in a high-gloss polished chrome finish, housing a central vertical rod with three horizontal arms, each supporting a petite frosted cube-shaped glass shade. The upward-facing lamp positions distribute soft, diffused ambient light across the room while the open-cage orb structure maintains visual lightness — volume without visual weight.

The geometric contrast between the large circular frame and the small cube shades is deliberate: it creates a dynamic, sculptural silhouette that reads differently from every angle. The polished chrome finish carries that contemporary, industrial-chic character without tipping into cold or clinical territory — particularly once the frosted glass softens the light output.

The Mondo is suspended from a circular ceiling canopy via an adjustable cable supplied at over 3 metres in length, which can be cut to suit your ceiling height. The metal frame is steel construction with a polished chrome finish. Lamp type and dimming compatibility should be confirmed at point of specification — contact us if you need guidance on suitable lamps or dimmer pairing for your installation.

At Lightsource Mallorca, we work with specification-led products like the Quintiesse Mondo precisely because the details matter: the right suspension length for your ceiling, the right lamp to match your dimmer, and the right product delivered on time. We help you get from concept to installed fixture without the guesswork — that is the point of working with a specification partner rather than a catalogue.

FAQs

How is the suspension height adjusted on the Mondo chandelier?

The Mondo is supplied with over 3 metres of cable, which can be cut at any point to suit your ceiling height. This makes it practical for both standard and double-height ceilings.

What do the frosted glass shades do to the light output?

Frosted glass diffuses light — it scatters the output as it passes through the material, softening the effect and reducing visible glare from the lamp. This makes the Mondo well suited to living rooms and dining areas where ambience is the priority.

Is the Mondo suitable for dimming?

Dimming compatibility depends on the lamp type used. We recommend confirming your intended lamp and dimmer combination before installation. Contact us and we can advise on compatible options for your setup.

What finish is the Mondo available in?

The Mondo Chandelier is available in a polished chrome finish across the metal frame and ceiling canopy, giving it a high-gloss, reflective appearance.

What is the CRI of the Mondo chandelier?

The Mondo has a CRI (Colour Rendering Index) of 80. CRI measures how accurately a light source renders colours compared to natural daylight — 80 is a solid general standard suitable for living and entertaining spaces.
