Quintiesse Castelle Outdoor Wall Lantern

Choosing an exterior wall light involves more than picking a shape you like. Get the IP rating wrong and moisture finds its way in. Choose a design that's purely decorative and you lose useful light distribution. The Castelle addresses both — rated IP44 (protected against splashing water from any direction) and designed to cast light outward through an open frame rather than trapping it behind an opaque shade.

For exterior wall lanterns, the lamp type and dimming compatibility matter as much as the form. The Castelle uses an E27 socket — the standard screw fitting widely available in LED formats — with a maximum load of 60W. It supports dimmable lamps, so you can pair it with a compatible phase dimmer (a wall-mounted control that reduces voltage to the lamp) for ambience control on terraces, entrance ways, or gateways. Lamps are not included, which means you choose the colour temperature and lumen output to suit your project.

The Quintiesse Castelle Outdoor Wall Lantern is a transitional design — sitting comfortably between contemporary and classic — built from cast aluminium with a cylindrical ribbed etched glass diffuser at its core. Four slim vertical pillars form an open geometric cage with bevelled top and bottom caps, echoing traditional lantern silhouettes while reading as clean and architectural in context. The ribbed etched glass diffuses the light source to reduce glare while adding a decorative, tactile quality to the emitted light.

The Castelle is available in two finishes — Black and Bronze — and in two sizes, Small and Medium, allowing you to match scale to the architecture. The rectangular integrated backplate mounts flush to the wall for a neat, considered installation.

This is an E27 lamped fitting with a maximum 60W rating; lamps are sold separately. IP44 makes it suitable for covered or semi-exposed exterior locations — sheltered porches, entrance canopies, and sheltered courtyard walls — but it is not rated for direct rain exposure or full submersion zones. No driver or transformer is required; it connects directly to a standard mains supply. Dimmable lamp compatibility means a phase dimmer can be introduced, but confirm your chosen LED lamp is marked as dimmable before specifying.

At Lightsource Mallorca, we work with products like the Castelle because they solve real specification problems: a design-led exterior fitting that handles IP compliance, lamp flexibility, and dimming readiness without requiring custom engineering. Whether you're specifying a single entrance lantern or a run of exterior wall lights across a residential project, we can help you match size, finish, lamp output, and dimming control to the brief — and coordinate delivery to site.
