Quintiesse Ascher 6-Light Chandelier

Choosing a chandelier for a dining room, entrance hall, or double-height space involves more than picking something beautiful — getting the drop height wrong, or discovering post-install that the fitting overwhelms or underwhelms the room, is a frustratingly common outcome. A fitting with a generous, adjustable chain and clearly stated dimensions removes much of that guesswork.

For a chandelier, the key decisions are scale, light quality, and how the fitting behaves in the space. Candle-style arms with exposed flame-tip bulbs produce a warm, scattered ambient glow — the kind that flatters a room without flattening it. The drop range tells you how adaptable the fitting is; the diameter tells you whether it suits the table or ceiling zone it needs to anchor.

The Quintiesse Ascher 6-Light Chandelier addresses all of this directly. Quintiesse is a Belgian lighting brand with a strong specification pedigree, and the Ascher range is a confident expression of transitional design — blending streamlined, square-profiled polished nickel arms with a prominent central column of solid faceted crystal. The bobeches (the decorative drip pans at the base of each arm) are also faceted crystal, creating prismatic light scatter across the surrounding surfaces. The overall diameter is 711mm, the fixed body height is 715mm, and — importantly — the fitting ships with over 3 metres of chain, giving a minimum installed drop of 798mm and a maximum of 3,951mm. That range makes it workable from a standard 2.4m ceiling through to a dramatic double-height void.

The design sits firmly in transitional territory: the geometry is clean and the metalwork restrained, but the crystal column grounds it in something more classical and tactile. Black organza clip shades (available separately as LS395) introduce softness and a moodier ambience if preferred — a straightforward way to shift the character of the fitting without replacing it.

The Ascher takes six E14 candle-style bulbs up to 60W each, or LED equivalents — bulbs are not included. There is no integrated LED source or driver to consider here; lamp choice is entirely yours, which makes it easy to match your preferred colour temperature. There is no IP rating for this fitting, confirming it is intended for dry interior use only. The chain and canopy are included for suspension.
