Lucide Xera Wall Washer

Creating genuine depth and atmosphere on a wall is harder than it looks. A single poorly chosen fitting can flatten a surface rather than animate it, leaving a room feeling unfinished despite good intentions elsewhere.

Wall washers work by directing light across a vertical surface, revealing texture and creating contrast — the effect is what lifts a room. For this to work well, the fixture needs to cast light both upward and downward (known as bi-directional distribution), and its form needs to sit close enough to the wall to graze rather than flood. The lamp socket type matters too: a G9 fitting accepts both halogen and LED G9 lamps, giving you control over colour temperature and energy use.

The Lucide Xera Wall Washer is a compact cylindrical wall fitting designed to do exactly this. Part of Lucide's Xera range, it features an open-ended cylindrical shade that distributes light upward and downward simultaneously, casting a characteristic pattern against the wall behind it. The internal metallic finish adds a decorative warmth to the emitted light — a considered detail that lifts what could otherwise be a purely functional form. It carries an IP20 rating, making it suitable for dry interior locations including living rooms, entrances, kitchens, and offices.

The Xera is constructed from metal with a minimalist, geometric profile — a compact cylinder (approximately Ø8 cm × H10 cm) mounted on a vertical rectangular wall bracket. It is available in Black or White. The Black version features a contrasting metallic gold interior; the White version brings a cleaner, fresher quality suited to lighter schemes. Both finishes suit contemporary interiors without demanding attention.

The Xera uses a G9 lamp socket. A G9 lamp is a small bi-pin bulb, widely available in both halogen and LED variants — LED G9 lamps are recommended for lower energy use and longer life. Please note: the lamp is not included and should be sourced separately. As an IP20-rated fitting, the Xera is designed for dry interior use only and is not suitable for bathrooms or outdoor spaces.

At Lightsource Mallorca, we work with products like the Xera because they solve a real specification problem: how to add considered, layered light without overcomplicating the install. Whether you are specifying a single accent for a hallway or a run of Xera fittings along a feature wall, we can help you confirm lamp choices, spacing, and dimming options before anything is ordered — so the result on site matches the vision on paper.
