Lucide Suus Surface Flush Ceiling Light

Choosing a ceiling light that works both as a functional fitting and a design statement is harder than it sounds. Too minimal and it disappears; too decorative and it competes. The Lucide Suus sits in that productive middle ground — architectural enough to notice, restrained enough to complement almost any interior.

For surface-mounted ceiling lights like this one, the key decisions are simpler than for recessed or driver-dependent fittings, but there is one thing worth getting right from the start: dimmer compatibility. This fixture is designed to connect to a dimmer switch, which means the lamp you choose must also be dimmable — not all LED bulbs are, so pairing matters. A TRIAC (or leading-edge/trailing-edge) dimmer is the most common domestic type; confirm your lamp and dimmer are matched before you buy.

The Lucide Suus is a surface-mounted flush ceiling light from Belgian brand Lucide. Its open geometric frame — a square outer profile intersecting a circular inner ring — is constructed from metal and finished in a consistent matte black. The open cage structure allows 360-degree light dispersal from a single central bulb, making the lamp itself a deliberate design element rather than something to hide. Rated IP20, it is suitable for dry interior spaces including living rooms, bedrooms, and offices.

Measuring 28 x 23.5 x 30 cm, the Suus carries enough presence to read as a considered design choice without overwhelming a room. The intersecting square and circular forms create a quiet architectural interest — the kind of detail that rewards a second look. With no variants listed, what you see is a focused, single-expression product: matte metal, geometric frame, understated confidence.

The Suus is an IP20-rated interior fitting, suitable for dry zones only — not for bathrooms or exterior use. It is designed to accommodate a single decorative filament-style bulb (not included), which becomes the visual centrepiece of the design. Connection to a compatible dimmer switch is recommended to get the most from the fixture across different times of day. No driver or transformer is required — this is a direct-wire surface mount.

At Lightsource Mallorca, we work with products like the Suus because specification should be straightforward when the product is right for the job. We help you confirm lamp and dimmer compatibility before anything is ordered, so there are no surprises on install day. It is the kind of detail that saves time, cost, and frustration — and it is exactly what a good specification partner is for.
