Lucide Ruben Decorative Wall Light

Choosing a decorative wall light that works as both a design statement and a practical fitting is harder than it looks. Get it wrong and you end up with something that feels either too industrial or too ordinary — never quite right for the room.

For wall lights in this category, the details that matter most are finish contrast, light quality, and dimming compatibility. The exposed bulb style lives or dies by the quality of the filament glow, and whether you can bring that glow down to a comfortable evening level without flicker or buzz.

The Lucide Ruben Decorative Wall Light answers those questions directly. Lucide, a Belgian lighting brand with a strong track record in design-led residential specification, has built the Ruben around a cuboid open-cage frame of square-profile metal bars in a matte black finish — clean, geometric, and confident. A brushed brass-finish cylindrical socket sits at the centre, and a large clear G-shaped bulb with a visible spiral LED filament does the work of turning a wall fitting into something worth looking at. It is rated IP20, making it well suited to living rooms, bedrooms, dining rooms, and hallways. The fitting is compatible with a standard dimmer switch, so you can dial the atmosphere up or down without swapping hardware.

The Ruben's design sits at the intersection of minimalist and industrial — strong lines, deliberate contrast between the matte black frame and the warm brass socket, and a filament bulb that becomes the visual centrepiece rather than an afterthought. At 22 × 22 cm it is compact enough to sit quietly beside a bed or mirror, yet distinctive enough to anchor a hallway wall on its own terms.

Installation is straightforward: the fitting is intended for hardwired wall mounting via a junction box behind the backplate — a standard approach for decorative wall lights at this level. The open-cage construction is lightweight, which simplifies positioning. Lamp type is a large G-shaped filament bulb; check the socket specification to confirm the correct cap type before ordering. IP20 rating confirms this fitting is for dry interior zones only — not suitable for bathrooms or humid areas.

At Lightsource Mallorca, we work with products like the Ruben because they remove the guesswork from decorative specification: the dimming compatibility is clear, the installation approach is familiar, and the design holds up across multiple room types. If you are coordinating a project across several spaces, that kind of consistency matters — and we can help you align the right fittings across your full scheme, on time and to budget.
