Lucide Manuela Decorative Wall Light

Choosing a decorative wall light that holds its own as a design statement — without overwhelming a space — is harder than it looks. Too minimal and it disappears. Too ornate and it fights everything around it. The Manuela sits confidently in between.

For decorative wall lights like this one, the key specification questions are straightforward: does the design work with the bulb type you want, is it suitable for the room's electrical zone, and can it be dimmed? The open cage construction here means the bulb is very much part of the look — a clear filament lamp will give you that warm amber glow and the characteristic shadow play that makes this style work.

The Lucide Manuela is a decorative wall-mounted light fixture from Belgian brand Lucide. Its defining feature is a cage-like shade formed from wide, curved flat metal bands — closer to sculpture than a conventional shade — which creates a soft, pumpkin-like silhouette around the light source. It carries an IP20 rating, meaning it is suitable for dry indoor spaces away from moisture. It is compatible with a dimmer switch, giving you control over brightness and atmosphere throughout the day.

The Manuela is finished in matte black metal, with a rectangular backplate that anchors it cleanly to the wall. The contrast between the sharp geometry of the backplate and the organic curves of the cage is what gives it its character — equally at home in a rural farmhouse setting or a sleek contemporary interior. Its compact dimensions (20.5 x 14 x 17 cm) make it a practical choice where wall space is limited but a design moment is still needed.

The open cage design allows full access to the bulb for easy replacement. A single lamp holder is positioned centrally within the cage. The IP20 rating confirms this fixture is intended for dry indoor environments only — not suitable for bathrooms or covered outdoor areas. Connect to a compatible dimmer switch for variable brightness; check dimmer compatibility with the lamp type you choose, as not all dimmers work with all LED filament bulbs.
