Outdoor and flexible indoor lighting often falls apart at the same hurdle: the cable. Whether you're setting a table on a terrace, a poolside corner, or a spot that simply has no socket nearby, hardwired or plug-in lamps just don't work. The result is either a compromised layout or an exposed extension lead nobody wants to look at.

Rechargeable portable lamps solve this cleanly — but not all are built to handle outdoor conditions reliably over time. IP44 is the key rating to look for here: it means the lamp is protected against splashing water from any direction, making it suitable for covered outdoor areas and alfresco dining without worry.

The Lucide Jive Rechargeable Table Lamp is a cordless, battery-powered LED lamp with an IP44 rating, integrated touch dimming, and a robust construction suited to extended outdoor use. Its integrated LED light source is dimmable directly via a touch-sensitive control on the base, allowing you to dial in the right level of warmth and ambience without any additional equipment. Available in two variants, it suits a range of interior and exterior settings.

The Jive has a distinctive silhouette — a tapered matte black cylindrical base topped with a wide, cantilevered conical diffuser in translucent off-white. When lit, the diffuser glows warmly and casts a glare-free downward light across the surface below. It is compact enough not to dominate a table setting, at 14 cm wide and approximately 21 cm tall, yet visually considered enough to hold its own as a design object.

No driver, cable management, or electrical installation is required. The lamp charges via its built-in rechargeable battery and is ready to deploy anywhere within its IP44-rated parameters. The touch control on the base handles both power and dimming, keeping the experience simple and the surface clean.

At Lightsource Mallorca, we help you match the right product to the right setting — whether that's a single terrace lamp or a coordinated scheme across multiple outdoor zones. The Jive is a well-engineered, specification-ready choice for flexible ambient lighting that doesn't compromise on design or durability.

FAQs

Is the Lucide Jive suitable for outdoor use?

Yes. The Jive carries an IP44 rating, meaning it is protected against water splashing from any direction. This makes it suitable for covered outdoor areas such as terraces, pergolas, and alfresco dining settings — but it should not be left exposed to direct rain or submerged.

Does the Jive need a driver or separate power supply?

No. The lamp has a built-in rechargeable battery, so no driver, transformer, or electrical installation is required. It charges independently and is fully self-contained — just place it where you need it.

Can the brightness be adjusted on the Jive?

Yes. There is a touch-sensitive control integrated into the base of the lamp that allows you to switch it on and off, and to dim the integrated LED. No separate dimmer switch or smart control is needed.

Is the LED replaceable?

The Jive uses an integrated LED light source, meaning the LED is built into the lamp and is not designed to be user-replaced. The benefit is a more compact, weather-resistant construction with no loose components.

What is the Jive made from?

The lamp body and diffuser are constructed from plastics and acrylics, which contributes to its lightweight, portable nature and its ability to withstand outdoor conditions within its IP44 rating.
