Colour temperature — the warmth or coolness of white light, measured in Kelvin — also affects mood significantly. 2700K reads warm and intimate; 3000K is slightly crisper and more neutral, better suited to contemporary interiors or task-adjacent spaces.
The Lodes Random Solo Pendant is a blown glass sphere pendant designed by Chia-Ying Lee in 2020, part of the wider Random range by Italian manufacturer Lodes. Available in the Solo 18 (180mm diameter), it houses an integrated LED light source delivering 3W at CRI 90 — a colour rendering index score that ensures colours read accurately and naturally under the light — and is offered at either 2700K or 3000K. With a MacAdam 3-Step binning tolerance, colour consistency is tightly controlled, which matters when hanging multiple pendants together. The luminaire carries an IP20 rating, suitable for dry interior spaces.
