Pendants like this live or die by the quality of their diffusion. Here, the glass globe acts as a full-surface diffuser, meaning the light source itself is completely concealed and light radiates evenly in all directions. This creates a soft, consistent ambient glow — warm and present without harsh spots or visible glare. Colour Rendering Index (CRI) is rated at 90, meaning colours read true and natural under it, which matters particularly in residential and hospitality interiors where atmosphere is everything.

The Lodes Random Solo Pendant is a single-globe suspension from Lodes' Random range, designed by Chia-Ying Lee in 2020. It reinterprets the original Random multi-pendant cluster by freeing each sphere individually — a floating bubble of light with an almost invisible suspension wire and no visible external hardware or fasteners. The result is pure geometric form: a seamless glass globe that reads as a deliberate, architectural detail rather than a light fitting. IP20 rated, it is designed for dry interior use.

The Random Solo is available in four finishes — Clear, Glossy Bronze, Frosted White, and Glossy Smoke — and in two colour temperatures: 2700K (a very warm, candlelight-adjacent tone) and 3000K (warm white, suited to contemporary interiors). With 14 variants across size, finish, and CCT, it works as a considered solo focal point or in composed clusters of varying heights and finishes. Please note: the canopy is sold separately.

Lamps are not included and no driver is integrated into the fitting itself — confirm your lamp and driver requirements at the point of specification to avoid delays. The ultra-fine suspension wire allows for flexible positioning at height, making it well suited to both standard ceiling heights and grander double-height spaces. IP20 means this fitting is suitable for dry rooms only — not bathrooms or exterior use.
