The Lodes Puzzle Single Square Wall Light addresses all of this cleanly. Designed for Lodes in 2014, this Italian-made architectural wall light integrates an AC LED light source — meaning no separate driver is required — directly within an aluminium body shaped to maximise light reflection onto the wall surface. At 16W, it delivers either 1,750 lm at 2,700K or 1,850 lm at 3,000K, both with a CRI of 92 (a measure of how accurately colours are rendered under the light — 90+ is considered excellent). MacAdam 3-Step binning ensures consistency in colour appearance across units, which matters when specifying multiples in the same space.

The form is deliberately minimal: a flat square panel offset from the wall by a smaller square bracket, creating the impression of a floating geometric shape. There are no visible fixings, no exposed hardware, and no decorative detail — the light effect itself is the feature. The Puzzle range is available in Matt Black and Matt White, both in a consistent matte metal finish that integrates quietly into modern interiors without competing with them.

The integrated AC LED operates on 220–240V and requires no external driver or transformer, simplifying installation. The fixture is rated IP20, meaning it is suitable for dry interior locations — living rooms, bedrooms, hallways, and similar spaces, but not bathrooms or other humid zones. Hardwired installation is required; there is no lamp to replace. Lodes includes the LED light source as part of the fixture.
