What makes an adjustable sconce work is the quality and range of its movement. Tilt (rotation around a horizontal axis) and rotation (spin around a vertical axis) together determine how freely you can redirect the light cone. The wider those ranges, the more control you have over where the halo lands — on the wall above, sweeping to the ceiling, or splitting across a corner. Integrated LED light sources also matter here: the colour rendering index, or CRI, tells you how accurately the light reproduces surface colours and materials around it.
The Lodes Puzzle Round Decorative Wall Light answers this directly. Designed for Lodes in 2016, the Puzzle Round features flexible joints that allow each disc to tilt up to 85° and rotate up to 355°, giving near-total freedom over the direction of its indirect light. The integrated LED delivers 3000K colour temperature, a CRI of 92 — meaning colours and finishes in the room are rendered with high fidelity — and 1800 lm per disc (3600 lm in the double configuration). The fitting is rated IP20, making it suitable for dry interior zones including living rooms, hallways, foyers, and corridors.
Two overlapping aluminium discs form a geometric, sculptural composition that reads quietly on the wall when unlit and transforms into a layered play of reflected light when illuminated. The design is deliberately unobtrusive — the interest comes from the light effect, not from an elaborate shade. The Puzzle Round is available in Matt White, Matt Black, and Champagne finishes, allowing it to sit cleanly within both neutral and warm interior palettes.
The LED light source is integrated and included. The fitting is wall-mounted and suited to indoor dry locations only (IP20).
