The Lodes A-Tube Surface Downlight addresses this directly. Designed in Italy and launched in 2013, it pairs a 6 cm diameter aluminium tube — just 4 mm wall thickness — with a GU10 lamp housing that delivers clean, downward-focused light. The result is a fitting that is simultaneously architectural in character and practical in specification. The ceiling version is available in four sizes (14, 30, 60 and 100 cm); the suspension version in three lengths (30, 60 and 100 cm), usable as single pendants or grouped on canopies for multi-light compositions.

A-Tube is available in Matt Black and Matt White. Its minimalist cylindrical form — free from visible seams, screws, or decorative elements — allows it to recede into an interior or step forward as a deliberate rhythmic element, depending on how it is deployed. A single unit reads as a precise accent; a cluster of varying lengths becomes a feature in its own right.

A-Tube is rated IP20, suitable for dry interior spaces. The fitting houses a GU10 lamp (not included); this is a standard format with broad compatibility across dimmable and non-dimmable options. The ceiling version fixes directly to the ceiling via a simple metal attachment.
