In-Lite WINK Bollard Glare Shield

Bollard lighting is one of those details that looks effortless when it works — and quietly frustrating when it doesn't. A common issue is glare at low level: light spilling directly into the eyes of anyone nearby, rather than washing across a path or planting bed as intended.

For low-level outdoor bollards like the In-Lite ACE, a lens cover or glare shield changes how light leaves the fitting. By blocking the source from certain angles, it concentrates output in the desired direction — what lighting designers call asymmetric distribution — improving both visual comfort and the overall effect on the ground plane.

The In-Lite WINK is a purpose-designed glare shield accessory for the In-Lite low ACE bollard. It fits directly over the light source via a circular mounting ring, and its semi-conical arched hood redirects output while cutting unwanted glare at eye level. The pivot points on either side suggest the hood can be adjusted during installation, allowing the direction of light to be fine-tuned to suit the specific layout.

The WINK has a compact, integrated form that sits neatly on the ACE without looking like an afterthought. Its matte black finish — consistent with the moulded or powder-coated construction visible in the product — blends with typical outdoor architectural hardware rather than drawing attention to itself. A small ridge on the top of the hood gives a clear tactile reference point for orienting the shield correctly during fitting.
