Getting garden lighting to behave the way you imagined is harder than it looks. Timers that don't sync, zones that can't be controlled independently, systems that outgrow their power supply — these are the friction points that turn a well-planned outdoor scheme into a frustration. The right control hub makes the difference between a system that works and one that just about works.
In a low-voltage outdoor lighting system, the hub is the brain: it supplies power to connected fixtures and manages how and when they operate. Getting the capacity right matters — specify too little VA (volt-amperes, a measure of the total power load the hub can support) and you'll hit a ceiling before the scheme is complete. Per-cable control adds a further layer of flexibility, letting you address different zones independently rather than treating the whole garden as a single switch.
The In-Lite Smart Hub is a Bluetooth-controlled low-voltage transformer and control interface designed for use with In-Lite garden lighting systems. The range comprises three models — Smart Hub-75, Smart Hub-150, and Smart Hub-300 — rated at 75VA, 150VA, and 300VA respectively. The 75VA model provides two individually controllable cable outputs; both the 150VA and 300VA models offer three. All three are operated via the in-lite app for iOS and Android, which allows scheduling, zone control, and sharing settings with other app users. The hub is rated IP23, meaning it is protected against vertically dripping water and suitable for sheltered outdoor installation. It is tested and certified to TUV, (C)UL, and KIWA (CE) standards.
The Smart Hub has a compact, wall-mountable form in a uniform matte black finish with a minimalist profile. A blue LED ring on the front face serves as both a status indicator and a subtle design detail — understated enough to disappear into a planting scheme after dark, distinctive enough to locate quickly during setup. The Dutch engineering behind In-Lite's product range is reflected in the clean, no-nonsense housing.
Installation is surface or wall-mounted, with a power cable supplied from the unit. Capacity selection is straightforward: add up the VA load of the fixtures you plan to connect, then choose the hub that exceeds that total. The in-lite app connects via Bluetooth Low Energy (a short-range, low-power wireless protocol), so no additional bridge or hub hardware is required for basic operation. Note that IP23 is suitable for sheltered positions — if the unit will be exposed to direct rainfall or splash, a protected mounting location is recommended.
At Lightsource Mallorca, we treat control hardware with the same rigour as the fixtures themselves — because a beautiful garden scheme let down by an undersized or incompatible hub is a project risk, not just a technical footnote. We can help you calculate the correct VA load for your planned scheme, confirm compatibility with your chosen In-Lite fixtures, and coordinate delivery to site. Specification support is part of the service.
