In-Lite Fusion 22 Outdoor Ground Spot

Recessed ground lighting is one of those specification decisions that looks straightforward until it isn't. Get the IP rating wrong, choose a fixture that's too large, or pick a diffuser that creates glare at ankle level, and the result is both a visual and practical problem — especially on path and terrace applications where footfall and drainage are daily realities.

For ground-recessed fixtures, two things matter most: protection class and light quality. IP67 means the fitting is rated for full temporary immersion — important where rainwater pools on terraces or between pavers. CRI (Colour Rendering Index) describes how accurately a light source renders colours; at 93, the Fusion 22 sits well above the 80 threshold typically considered acceptable for quality architectural work, meaning planting, stone, and timber all read as intended after dark.

The In-Lite Fusion 22 is a compact recessed outdoor ground spot from Dutch brand In-Lite, part of their Fusion range. At just 22 mm in diameter, it is designed to disappear into paving, decking, or hardscape during the day and emit a soft, glare-free upward light in the evening. With an IP67 rating and a CRI of 93, it is well suited to path marking, step definition, and terrace accent lighting where subtlety and reliability are both non-negotiable.

The fixture has a circular, low-profile metallic form with a smooth silver-toned rim and a central translucent diffuser — the diffuser being key to its soft, non-dazzling output. The minimal footprint makes it particularly effective where a strong daytime visual presence would detract from the surface material. The Fusion 22 is available in Black, Pearl Grey, and Stainless Steel finishes, and can be specified with or without a RING 28 surround (the ring is ordered separately and attaches via screw thread on the “add ring” variant).

The Fusion 22 is rated drive-over, making it suitable for use in driveways and vehicular access areas as well as pedestrian zones. It is designed for recessed flush mounting into hardscape. As a low-voltage fixture in the In-Lite system, it is compatible with In-Lite's dedicated outdoor transformers — if you are building a new installation or extending an existing In-Lite network, transformer specification should be confirmed at the design stage based on total fixture load and cable run. Driver and transformer are not included.
