One of the most common mistakes in garden lighting is choosing an uplight that looks right in a brochure but overwhelms the feature it was meant to enhance — or, worse, one that sits proud of the surface and becomes a trip hazard or an eyesore by day. Getting the scale right matters.
For accent lighting at ground level, the key decisions are beam reach, integration depth, and how the fixture interacts with the surface material. A recessed ground spotlight should disappear during daylight and do its job quietly after dark — projecting upward to reveal texture, height, and form in the landscape.
The In-Lite FLUX 22 Outdoor Ground Spotlight is a compact, recessed uplight designed to project warm white light up to 3 metres — well suited to medium-height garden features such as planters, sculptures, or architectural planting. Its low-profile, flush-mount design makes it visually unobtrusive during the day, with a circular bezel that sits level with the surrounding surface. The internal lens features a textured honeycomb optical pattern that helps manage glare and distribute light effectively. The FLUX 22 is also drive-over rated, making it a practical choice for driveways, pathways, and hard-landscaped areas that see vehicle or heavy foot traffic.
The FLUX 22 is available with or without a mounting ring. For installation into timber decking or wooden surfaces, In-Lite recommends using the FLUX 22 with RING 28 — the ring provides a screw-thread attachment point that protects the fixture edge and gives a cleaner finish in softer materials. The ring is sold separately. For composite decking installations, specify FLUX 22 in Black, Pearl Grey, or Stainless Steel finishes accordingly.
Important installation note: the FLUX 22 is designed for recessed mounting only. It is not suitable for surface installation. The ring (RING 28) is not included and must be ordered separately if required. Confirm your surface material before specifying to ensure the correct configuration is ordered first time.
