Feiss Baskin Pendant Light

Pendant lighting that looks effortless rarely is. The challenge is finding a fitting that holds its own as a focal point — visually interesting, not overpowering — while working within the material palette you've already committed to. Get it wrong and a pendant can look like an afterthought. Get it right and it anchors the whole room.

For suspended decorative fittings like this, the key decisions are form, light character, and finish compatibility. A clear glass shade with a visible filament source gives a warmer, more atmospheric result than a frosted or opaque shade — the bulb becomes part of the aesthetic. Finish choice affects how the fitting reads against surrounding materials: bright metals read contemporary, aged or darkened finishes lean rustic or transitional. IP20 means the fitting is rated for dry interior use only — not suitable for bathrooms or covered outdoor spaces.

The Feiss Baskin Pendant Light is a single-source suspended luminaire built around two clean, iconic silhouettes. Produced by Feiss, a well-established American lighting brand with a long track record in decorative residential lighting, the Baskin collection takes the antique socket pendant format and refines it with clear, thick geometric glass shades that introduce warmth and sparkle without visual clutter. The stepped profile — narrow cylindrical neck flaring to a wider angular base — gives the shade an architectural quality that distinguishes it from standard bell or conical forms.

The fitting pairs dark bronze-toned metal hardware and a fabric-wrapped cord with a transparent glass shade, creating a transitional aesthetic that bridges industrial and refined interiors. The Edison-style filament bulb, visible through the clear glass, acts as a decorative focal point in its own right. Two finish options are available: Polished Nickel for a more contemporary feel, and Aged Brass with Dark Weathered Zinc for schemes with a warmer, more rustic or layered character.

The Baskin is a lamped fitting — the bulb is not included and is selected separately, which gives you control over colour temperature and output to suit the mood of the space. The IP20 rating confirms this is a dry-room fitting. The cord length is adjustable during installation via the ceiling canopy, which sits flush to conceal the electrical connection. A threaded collar or metal fitter secures the glass shade to the socket assembly. Confirm your required drop with your installer before ordering.
