Feiss Allier Pendant Light

Choosing a statement pendant for a living or dining space often means balancing visual impact with authenticity — too many fixtures chase a rustic look with materials that don't hold up to scrutiny. The result can feel contrived rather than considered.

For a pendant like this, what matters most is the material story and how the form handles light. An open cage structure distributes light in all directions, creating ambient illumination with layered shadow patterning across walls and ceilings — a quality that changes character entirely with the type of bulb used at its centre.

The Feiss Allier Pendant Light answers that brief honestly. Feiss, an American brand with a long history in decorative lighting, built the Allier collection around aged oak kiln-dried to prevent cracking — a process detail that matters for longevity in variable interior climates. The spherical cage is formed from wide, vertically curved oak bands with a weathered grey-brown grain finish, secured with visible metallic fasteners at the poles and contrasted by dark charcoal matte metal hardware throughout the chain, mounting loop, and socket.

The open-slat orb silhouette reads as both rustic and architectural — substantial in presence without being visually heavy. The name references the Allier forest in France, a region traditionally associated with oak used in wine barrel production, giving the collection a material provenance that goes beyond surface aesthetics. No variant options are currently listed; contact Lightsource Mallorca to confirm current availability.

The Allier is rated IP20, meaning it is suitable for dry interior locations only — living rooms, dining rooms, hallways, and similar spaces well away from moisture. It is designed to accept an Edison-style filament bulb at its centre; lamp type and wattage compatibility should be confirmed prior to specification. No driver or transformer is required for a standard mains-voltage lamped fitting of this type. Suspension is via a heavy-link metal chain with integrated wiring, and ceiling fixings should be assessed for the fixture weight before installation.

At Lightsource Mallorca, our role is to make sure the right product reaches the right project — specified correctly, sourced efficiently, and delivered without surprises. The Feiss Allier is the kind of piece that rewards careful placement: pair it with a warm-toned filament lamp to draw out the grain of the oak, and position it where the shadow patterning has a surface to land on. We can advise on lamp compatibility, suspension height, and how this fixture sits within a broader lighting scheme.
