Elstead Uptown Gotham Pendant

Choosing a statement pendant for a living space or dining room often means navigating a compromise: decorative pieces that look striking in a catalogue but arrive without clear specification detail, leaving you unsure whether the light output, scale, or finish will actually work in context.

For pendants like this, the key decisions are around light quality and visual weight. A fabric drum shade with a frosted diffuser panel will produce a soft, diffused downward glow — warm and ambient rather than task-focused. Understanding that means you can place it confidently over a dining table or in a reception area where atmosphere matters more than directed illumination.

The Elstead Uptown Gotham Pendant is a decorative indoor pendant from UK brand Elstead Lighting. It centres on a drum-shaped shade wrapped in matte black fabric, suspended from a polished metal frame of three slender arched arms meeting at a top hub. A white frosted diffuser at the base softens light emission, and faceted glass sphere accents at each structural junction introduce an ornate, jewel-like quality to the contemporary silhouette. Two horizontal metal bands encircle the shade, adding both structural rigidity and visual rhythm.

The high-contrast pairing of deep matte black fabric against highly reflective polished metal gives the Uptown Gotham a sophisticated, design-forward presence. It is available in two finishes: Imperial Silver and Brushed Brass, allowing it to work equally well within cooler, contemporary interiors or warmer, more classical schemes.

The fixture is suspended via a metal link chain from a circular top hub, with a central vertical rod running through the shade assembly. As with all Elstead pendants in this style, lamp type and driver requirements should be confirmed at specification stage — please contact us and we will advise on compatible light sources and any dimming options relevant to your project. Elstead products carry a warranty of 2–20 years depending on the model.

At Lightsource Mallorca, our role is to make sure a pendant this decorative is also a sound specification decision — right finish, right light output, right installation detail for your project. We work across design-led residential and commercial schemes in Mallorca, coordinating product selection, lead times, and technical compatibility so nothing gets left to chance on site.
