Elstead Stockholm Outdoor Pillar Light

Choosing an outdoor pillar light that holds up long-term — especially in coastal or high-humidity environments — is one of those decisions that catches people out. A fitting that looks great on day one can become a maintenance headache within a few years if the finish or construction isn't up to the task.

For exterior post and bollard lights, the key factors are weatherproofing, corrosion resistance, and lamp flexibility. IP54 means the fitting is protected against dust ingress and water splashing from any direction — suitable for exposed garden, driveway, and pathway installations. An E27 lamp holder (the standard screw cap fitting found in most domestic bulbs) gives you the freedom to choose your preferred light source and colour temperature without being locked into a proprietary LED module.

The Elstead Stockholm Outdoor Pillar Light is a single-lamp exterior pillar from Elstead's Stockholm outdoor collection, designed to bring a clean, functional silhouette to gardens, driveways, pathways, and commercial outdoor spaces. It carries an IP54 weatherproof rating and — on the galvanised variant — an 8-year warranty against severe corrosion with no coastal exclusion zone, making it a genuinely confident choice for seafront or island projects.

The Stockholm's design draws on a minimalist Scandinavian aesthetic: a tall, slender cylindrical post rising from a wide circular flanged base, topped with a hooded metal cap and a clear cylindrical glass diffuser protected by a cage of thin vertical rods and horizontal rings. The result is a form that nods to maritime and industrial lantern traditions without being heavy-handed about it. The Stockholm is available in two finishes: Galvanized and Black.

Installation is via the flanged base, which bolts directly to hard surfaces such as concrete, stone, or timber decking. The E27 lamp holder accepts a wide range of standard bulbs — LED recommended for efficiency and longevity. No driver is required. Dimming capability will depend on the lamp chosen and the dimmer installed; check lamp compatibility before specifying a dimming circuit. IP54 rating applies to the assembled fitting.
