Large-scale pendants carry real visual weight in a room — and the wrong choice, whether in proportion, finish, or light quality, is hard to undo once installed. Getting the specification right from the start saves both cost and frustration.

For wide drum-format pendants, two things matter most: how the fixture is suspended and how it manages glare. A broad shade needs stable, level mounting to look intentional rather than accidental, and a diffuser is essential for turning a powerful source into comfortable, room-filling ambience rather than a harsh hotspot.

The Elstead Silver Coral Pendant answers both concerns directly. Its wide, shallow drum frame is suspended from a central rigid downrod and steadied by four perimeter aircraft-style cables — a practical solution for keeping a large fixture perfectly level. The interior is lined with a translucent white diffuser, and the bottom of the fixture is enclosed by a matching flat white panel, held in place by a circular finial. Together, these elements spread light softly and evenly downward, reducing glare and creating a warm, consistent ambience beneath the fitting.

What sets the Silver Coral apart visually is its outer cage: an intricate, irregular lattice of metal with an organic, coral-like cellular pattern. This decorative layer sits over the diffuser and catches the light in its own right, casting subtle shadow detail onto surrounding surfaces. The metal components — cage, downrod, and canopy — are finished in a brushed nickel, silver-toned finish that reads as both contemporary and refined. This is a fixture that blends modern geometric structure with something altogether more natural and textured.

As a lamped fitting, lamp type and compatibility details should be confirmed at point of specification. We recommend verifying lamp base, wattage limits, and dimmer compatibility before ordering — our team is happy to work through this with you.

At Lightsource Mallorca, we help you move from a striking product image to a fully resolved specification. That means confirming the right lamp, advising on dimming compatibility, and ensuring the fixture arrives on time and ready to install. The Silver Coral is the kind of statement piece that rewards careful planning — and we're here to make that process straightforward.

FAQs

How is the Silver Coral pendant kept level given its wide drum format?

The fixture uses a dual suspension system: a central rigid downrod provides the primary hang point, while four perimeter aircraft-style cables extend from the canopy to the outer edges of the drum frame. This keeps the wide shade stable and perfectly level — particularly important for large-format pendants where even a slight tilt is visible.

Does the Silver Coral include a diffuser, and what effect does it have?

Yes. An internal translucent white diffuser sits behind the decorative outer cage, and the bottom of the fixture is enclosed by a flat white translucent panel secured with a central circular finial. Together, these components spread light softly and evenly, minimising glare and creating a comfortable ambient glow rather than a concentrated hotspot.

What finish is the Silver Coral pendant available in?

Based on current product imagery, the cage, downrod, and ceiling canopy are all finished in a brushed nickel, silver-toned finish. Please confirm available finish options with our team at the point of specification.

Is a lamp included with the Silver Coral pendant?

Lamp inclusion is not confirmed in the current product data. We recommend checking lamp compatibility — including base type and maximum wattage — before ordering. Our team can advise on suitable lamp options and dimming compatibility to ensure the fitting performs as expected.

What warranty does the Elstead Silver Coral carry?

Elstead offers a warranty of between 2 and 20 years depending on the specific model. Confirm the applicable warranty term for the Silver Coral with our team at the point of order.
