Elstead Redding Station Outdoor Wall Lantern

Choosing an outdoor wall light that holds its own visually without compromising on durability is harder than it sounds — especially in coastal or sun-exposed environments where inferior materials age badly and ill-considered fittings end up looking tired within a season.

For exterior wall lighting, the key decisions are IP rating, light direction, and glare control. IP44 means the fitting is protected against water splashing from any direction — suitable for covered entrances, sheltered patios, and most exterior wall positions that aren't fully exposed to driving rain. The prismatic glass diffuser softens the bulb's output, scattering light in a controlled way to reduce harsh direct glare while still delivering a warm, inviting pool of light below.

The Elstead Redding Station Outdoor Wall Lantern draws its character from vintage railroad station lighting — a design lineage that was always as much about function as form. The aluminium shade with its wide-brimmed profile directs light downward, while the curved gooseneck arm holds the fitting away from the wall for a confident, architectural silhouette. A tiered cylindrical neck and concentric-patterned prismatic glass lens give it genuine vintage industrial presence without tipping into pastiche. It carries a manufacturer's guarantee of up to 2–20 years depending on model.

The Redding Station wall lantern is available in two finishes: Restoration Bronze and Painted Distressed Bronze — both well-suited to natural stone, rendered render, or timber exteriors common across Mallorcan residential projects. The finish choice affects the overall mood; Restoration Bronze reads as warmer and more refined, while Painted Distressed Bronze leans into the industrial heritage.

The fitting takes an E27 lamp (the standard large screw cap) and is not supplied with a bulb. Elstead recommends a filament-style clear LED E27 — such as the Litec E27 A60: 8W, 800lm, 3000K dimmable — to complete the vintage aesthetic and keep energy use low. Dimmability depends entirely on the lamp chosen and the dimmer switch installed; confirm compatibility before specifying. Overall dimensions are H: 318mm, W: 305mm, Projection: 341mm.

At Lightsource Mallorca, we support the full specification journey — from finish selection through to lamp and dimmer compatibility — so you're not left piecing it together at the install stage. The Redding Station is the kind of considered, curated choice that rewards careful specification: the right aesthetic, the right protection rating, and a brand with genuine heritage behind it.
