Elstead Diamond Decorative Wall Light

Decorative wall lights often look striking in a catalogue and then raise awkward questions on site: will it read as a piece in its own right, or will it just look like a bracket with a bulb? The Diamond wall light is designed to answer that question before it's even asked.

For a wall light to work as both a light source and a design object, the diffuser needs to do two things well — soften the internal lamp enough to avoid glare, and still allow enough light to read the form when the fitting is switched on. Opal acrylic (a semi-translucent white plastic panel) achieves this more reliably than frosted glass in faceted frames, because it distributes light evenly across angled surfaces without hot spots.

The Elstead Diamond Decorative Wall Light is part of Elstead Lighting's Diamond range, manufactured in the United Kingdom. The fixture uses a multi-panel opal white acrylic diffuser set within a dark-finished metal frame cut into sharp, angular facets — directly inspired by the geometry of a cut diamond or gemstone. The result is a fitting that functions as a sculptural wall piece whether illuminated or not. IP20 rated, it is suited to dry interior environments.

The form is vertically elongated and asymmetrical, tapering toward a point at the top, giving it a strong directional presence on the wall. The high-contrast palette — dark metallic frame against bright white diffuser panels — works well against both pale and deeply coloured wall surfaces. The design carries a faceted motif through to its canopy detail, maintaining visual consistency from wall plate to shade.

This fitting is rated IP20, meaning it is appropriate for use in dry interior rooms only — not suitable for bathrooms or outdoor use. Lamp type and driver requirements should be confirmed at point of specification; Elstead's Diamond range is designed around concealed internal lamping, with light directed softly downward from the open base of the shade. A two-year manufacturer's warranty applies.

At Lightsource Mallorca, we work through specification decisions like this before they become site problems — confirming lamp compatibility, checking installation constraints, and coordinating lead times so the right product arrives when your project needs it. The Diamond wall light is a strong decorative choice where sculptural presence and soft ambient light need to coexist.
