Elstead Cromwell Chandelier

Choosing a statement chandelier is one of the easier decisions in a lighting scheme — until you realise the ceiling height is awkward, the suspension length needs adjusting, or the finish reads differently under warm lamplight than it did on screen. Getting the fit right matters as much as getting the look right.

For a piece like this, the key practical questions are suspension flexibility, lamp compatibility, and whether the scale suits the room. The Cromwell is suspended on a primary chain — meaning height is adjustable link by link — and carries eight candle-style lamp holders arranged on a circular hoop. IP20 rated, it is designed for dry interior spaces such as entrance halls, dining rooms, and living areas with adequate ceiling clearance.

The Elstead Cromwell Chandelier is a hand-made, eight-light iron chandelier from Elstead Lighting's Cromwell range, designed and manufactured exclusively in England. The circular wagon-wheel frame is constructed from heavy wrought iron, finished with a hand-applied Old Bronze treatment that gives each piece a subtly unique, aged character. Riveted detailing along the hoop exterior and spiked spherical finials beneath each lamp holder reinforce the medieval, Gothic-inspired silhouette.

The Cromwell reads as a serious decorative statement — appropriate for grand residential interiors, period properties, rural retreats, and hospitality spaces where historical atmosphere is part of the brief. The hand-painted Old Bronze finish varies naturally across pieces, which is a feature of artisanal production rather than a quality concern. No finish variants or size options are listed; the design stands as a single, considered expression.

The fixture is suspended via a central chain attached to a cylindrical hub, with four secondary chains providing structural stability to the hoop. Eight flame-tipped candle-style bulbs (not included) are required. With an IP20 rating, installation must be in a dry interior zone — not suitable for bathrooms or covered outdoor areas. Suspension height can be adjusted at installation by removing chain links. Backed by a two-year general warranty.
