Elstead Concord Bathroom Wall Light

Choosing a bathroom wall light sounds straightforward until you realise the wrong IP rating can fail a building inspection, and the wrong light position can leave your face half in shadow. It pays to get both the aesthetics and the specification right from the start.

In bathrooms, IP ratings define where a light can legally and safely be installed. IP20 means the fixture is not splash-proof, so it is suited to Zone 3 or outside defined wet zones — typically above or beside a mirror at a safe distance from the shower or bath. If you are unsure which zone applies to your installation point, it is worth confirming before you order.

The Elstead Concord Bathroom Wall Light is a hardwired, wall-mounted two-light fitting from Elstead's Concord bath collection. Its design draws on Colonial-era architectural detailing: a horizontal support bar extends from a double-stepped, chamfered backplate with cut corner detailing, from which two gooseneck arms descend to carry individual opal-etched glass shades. The shades are four-sided with bevelled vertical edges — architectural in character and reassuringly considered in their geometry. The polished chrome finish ties the metal components together cleanly, while the matte white opal glass diffuses light evenly downward toward the vanity surface. IP20 rated.

The backplate's cut corner detail deliberately echoes the bevelled geometry of the glass shades, giving the fixture a cohesion that reads well both up close and as part of a broader bathroom scheme. The dual downward-facing light configuration provides symmetrical, diffused illumination — particularly effective for grooming tasks where even, shadow-free light across the face matters. The polished chrome finish is the available option in this range.

As a hardwired wall fitting, the Concord connects directly to your mains supply. Lamp type and driver requirements should be confirmed at point of specification — contact us if you need guidance on compatible bulb types or dimming options. The IP20 rating makes it appropriate for use outside the defined wet zones of your bathroom layout.
