Elstead Christina 8-Light Chandelier

Choosing the wrong chandelier scale or suspension configuration is one of the most common — and costly — mistakes in decorative lighting. A fitting that looks perfect in a catalogue can overwhelm a room or hang too low for the ceiling height, leaving little room to correct it without returning the piece entirely.

For chandeliers in particular, two things matter before anything else: drop range and mounting flexibility. Drop range tells you how high or low the fitting can be positioned — critical for rooms with varying ceiling heights. Mounting flexibility determines whether a chain-hung chandelier can also be installed closer to the ceiling in a semi-flush configuration, which opens up the product to spaces where a full drop simply isn't practical.

The Elstead Christina 8-Light Chandelier addresses both. Designed and manufactured by Elstead in England, the Christina offers a minimum drop of 665mm and a maximum of 1825mm via its chain-link suspension, and it converts to a semi-flush mounting for lower-ceiling applications. Eight flame-shaped bulbs — set within clear cut glass sconces and framed by faceted crystal droplets — distribute ambient light in a multi-directional pattern suited to dining rooms, entrance halls, and formal living spaces.

The frame follows a classic scrolled arm design: eight arms sweep downward from a central hub before curling upward at the tip in an ornate double-curved silhouette. The hand-applied silver and gold patina finish gives each fitting a distinctive, artisanal quality — the dual-tone metallic surface reads differently depending on the light source and viewing angle, lending the piece a depth that flat finishes rarely achieve. At 700mm in diameter and 585mm in height, it carries presence without dominating the room.

The Christina is rated IP20, making it suitable for dry interior spaces. It accepts eight flame-style lamps (not included); confirm your preferred lamp type and dimmer compatibility before finalising the installation schedule. Chain length is adjustable on site, so a final ceiling-height measurement close to installation is worth confirming with your electrician.

At Lightsource Mallorca, we help you avoid the specification traps that slow projects down — wrong scale, incompatible mounting, last-minute lamp queries. The Elstead Christina is the kind of considered, well-made piece that earns its place in a curated interior; our role is to make sure it arrives correctly specified, on time, and ready to install without surprises.
