Elstead Carisbrooke 8 Light Chandelier

Choosing a statement chandelier is easy; choosing one that actually holds its visual weight in the room — and holds up to closer inspection — is harder. Many decorative chandeliers look impressive at a distance but reveal generic, repetitive details up close. The Carisbrooke range is designed to reward scrutiny.

For a chandelier to read as genuinely Gothic in character, the details matter as much as the silhouette. The interplay of rigid metalwork and softer, more organic elements is what separates a considered design from a costume. Here, that tension is achieved through hand-bound wire drapes — thin strands gathered at the central hub and falling in curtain-like formations to meet the curved arms below.

The Elstead Carisbrooke 8 Light Chandelier is a candelabra-style ceiling fitting hand-crafted in England by Elstead Lighting. Eight flame-shaped bulb positions each sit atop a saucer-shaped bobeche on a swept curved arm, dressed with ivory-coloured candle tube sleeves. The matte black metal frame and the contrast of the ivory tubes reinforce the Gothic aesthetic without tipping into pastiche. The fixture is suspended on a heavy-duty metal chain from a ceiling mounting point, giving it the presence its scale demands. IP20 rated, this is a fitting for dry indoor spaces.

The Carisbrooke range extends beyond this eight-light configuration — the CB3, CB5, and CB6 models within the range also incorporate a flush convert system, allowing adaptation from chain pendant to semi-flush mounting where ceiling height is a constraint. Optional glass is available across the complete range if additional decorative layering is required.

As a lamped fitting, bulb choice sits with you — flame-shaped candelabra bulbs are the natural match for the aesthetic, and LED equivalents are widely available to keep energy use in check. The fitting is rated IP20, meaning it is suitable for dry interior zones only. Installation is by a qualified electrician; the chain suspension and ceiling mounting plate are included with the fixture.
